Mastering Sample Collection: Diazyme’s Extraction Device Videos for Calprotectin, Lactoferrin, and Pancreatic Elastase Assays

10th Jan 2025

Accurate sample preparation is crucial for reliable diagnostic testing, and Diazyme is committed to making this process as simple and efficient as possible. To support laboratories in optimizing their workflows, we are excited to introduce our Extraction Device Demonstration Videos , designed to guide users through proper sample collection for calprotectin, lactoferrin, and pancreatic elastase testing . These instructional videos provide step-by-step guidance, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and ease of use in sample extraction.

Why Proper Sample Collection Matters

When testing for biomarkers like calprotectin, lactoferrin, and pancreatic elastase , precise sample collection and preparation directly impact test accuracy. Proper handling ensures:

  • Minimized variability in test results
  • Efficient extraction of target biomarkers
  • Reliable and reproducible outcomes across different samples and runs

Advantages of Diazyme’s Extraction Devices

  • Universal Compatibility – The DZ extraction device is uniquely designed to be compatible with all three fecal assays (calprotectin, lactoferrin, and pancreatic elastase), making it a one-stop solution for laboratories.
  • Ergonomic Design – Prevents leaks and evaporation, ensuring sample integrity and ease of handling.
  • Precision Sampling – Engineered to ensure proper sample volume collection, reducing variability and enhancing accuracy.

Enhancing Efficiency in the Laboratory

With these instructional videos, Diazyme aims to improve laboratory efficiency by minimizing handling errors and standardizing sample collection techniques. Whether for calprotectin, lactoferrin, or pancreatic elastase assays, our extraction devices and training resources ensure accurate and reliable sample preparation, leading to better patient outcomes.

Step-by-Step Sample Extraction Process

Diazyme’s extraction devices streamline the process with a standardized protocol tailored for both export and U.S. use. Our videos detail how to properly collect and prepare stool samples using our DZ202A-CLDF (Export) and DZ202A-ALP (U.S.) extraction devices.

For Export Use (DZ202A-CLDF):

  1. Prepare the Sample Dilution Vial – Remove the white cap and extraction stick.
  2. Collect the Sample – Insert the stick into four different points of the stool sample.
  3. Reinsert and Mix – Return the stick to the vial, tighten the cap, and shake well for dispersion.
  4. Centrifuge – Spin the vial at 1,000-3,000 rpm for 10 minutes to separate particulate matter.
  5. Prepare for Analysis – Remove the cap and blue spacer before introducing the sample into the analyzer.

For U.S. Use (DZ202A-ALP):

  1. Remove the Dipstick – Open the yellow cap and remove the attached dipstick.
  2. Collect the Sample – Insert the dipstick into three different sites of the stool.
  3. Reinsert the Dipstick – Excess material is stripped off, depositing 15 mg of sample into the buffer.
  4. Mix Thoroughly – Shake the tube until the stool is completely suspended in the extraction buffer.
  5. Ready for Testing – Open the cap, and the prepared stool-buffer solution is ready for analysis.
